W1AW Building to be Closed Briefly

The building housing Hiram Percy Maxim Memorial Station W1AW at ARRL Headquarters will be closed to visitors and tours from noon on Tuesday, June 13, until 8 AM on Thursday, June 15. This temporary closing will not affect the W1AW bulletin and code practice transmission schedule. We apologize for any inconvenience to our visitors.

Radio Amateur Hears Cassini Spacecraft

According to a recent post on the Pacific Northwest VHF Society (PNWVHFS) reflector, Paul Marsh, M0EYT, has confirmed reception of the Cassini spacecraft, now in orbit around Saturn. The big event this week was multiple sporadic-E linkups on 6 meters yesterday (June 8). The average daily sunspot number rose this week from 15.6 to 19.3. This was largely due to the fact that there was one zero-sunspot day last week, and no days with zero sunspots this week.
